We are pleased to welcome you to this internet facet of our congregation. We are located in Carbon County, just north of Lizard Creek Road, aka Route 895, not far from Bowmanstown. You can take Route 248 to Route 895 and head west 3 miles to the stop sign in Ashfield. Turn right onto Dinkey Road, we're up on the left side of the road. We like to think of ourselves as a church that is faithful to our Lord and welcoming to all God's marvelous and magnificent people.

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), one of 295 congregations of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA. We take our Lutheran teachings seriously and joyfully. Our theological roots help to provide the foundation for our sense of who we are. We understand faith to be what God works within us, providing us with direction and purpose in life. We welcome you to explore these pages and then join us in worship and ministry.

Dinkey Memorial Church takes its name from the Dinkey Family who donated the land for the building. We began in 1851 as a "union" congregation in partnership with the Reformed Church (you know it as UCC) which continued in the 1980's (you can find more information on the Church History page of our website). Planted on rugged hills and surrounded by woods and farmlands, this setting still influences us, but we are now a more suburban congregation with a warm mixture of members who work to support each other and celebrate the marvelous array of gifts God has given us. We are a people who enjoy food; we have several dinners and food activities throughout the year (you'll have to check us out to discover what that entails). Many of our congregants live within three miles of the church and are long-time and even life-long members. Our worship is lively and traditional, our faith is vibrant and welcoming, our fellowship is warm and inviting, and our ministry is challenging and filled with opportunities for services, our fellowship is warm and inviting, and our ministry is challenging and filled with opportunities for services.

While we are far from perfect and in daily need of God's gracious and restoring love, Dinkey's members are aware of God's blessings of all of us; we think of ourselves as a people called by God to find our way in Jesus Christ. God's grace is a wonderful and surprising gift to us. We'd like to share it with you. If these sentences of welcome capture your attention and interest, we invite you to check us out. Call us, visit us, and join us as we seek to discover God's future for us in this place.
